Prince Harry and Prince William are slated to pay tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana, at the Diana Legacy Award event. However, despite sharing the same cause, the brothers will maintain their distance and won't be present in the same physical space.
The commemorative event is set to take place at the Science Museum in London on Thursday. Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is expected to deliver a speech in person, marking the charity's 25th anniversary. He will also present awards to 20 deserving recipients.
On the other hand, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, will participate in the event through a video call. Notably, Harry's virtual presence is scheduled after Prince William departs from the venue.
The ongoing rift between the brothers has been widely reported since Prince Harry's decision to step back from his royal responsibilities four years ago. Tensions escalated further following the announcement of Harry's upcoming memoir titled "Spare."
This year's arrangement mirrors the previous year's protocol when both princes recorded separate video messages to congratulate the award winners. However, it marks a departure from previous years, such as 2021, when they appeared together at the event.
The Diana Award, established in memory of Princess Diana's commitment to youth empowerment, celebrates young individuals' potential to instigate positive change.
Additionally, Kate Middleton will be absent from the event. The Duchess of Cambridge has been on a hiatus from her royal engagements since January due to her recovery from abdominal surgery.
