The Home Office Responds to UK Court's Decision Against Prince Harry
After a court ruling stripped him of taxpayer-funded protection, Prince Harry intends to appeal the decision, citing his belief that he merits continuous worldwide security coverage.
Royal author Angela Levin weighed in on Harry's post-legal battle strategy, affirming, "Harry won't stop." Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Levin stated, "I hear that if Harry gets his next High Court appeal for top-class protection in the UK, he won't stop there." Levin further asserted, "He apparently thinks he deserves 24/7 around-the-world protection paid for out of UK citizens' pockets."
According to his legal spokesperson, "The Duke is not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of RAVEC’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with RAVEC’s own written policy." RAVEC is the body responsible for arranging security for the royals.
In response, a Home Office spokesperson informed CNN, "We are pleased that the Court has found in favour of the Government’s position in this case, and we are carefully considering our next steps. It would be inappropriate to comment further. The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security."
