Prince Harry appears to be reconsidering his decision to publish a follow-up to his revealing memoir, "Spare," which was released in January 2023 as part of the Sussexes' four-book agreement with Penguin Random House.
In an effort to mend his strained relationship with his family, particularly his father King Charles, Prince Harry is contemplating abandoning plans for a second tell-all book, according to royal expert Ingrid Seward.
Seward told 9honey that Prince Harry's candid criticism of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in his debut memoir was ill-advised and likely strained his relationship with his father. "Harry's open criticism of his stepmother undoubtedly caused tension," she said.
Although Seward believes that King Charles harbors no lingering resentment towards his son, she noted that the King has distanced himself from Harry due to his demanding schedule.
Recently, Prince Harry met with his father for a brief 30-minute discussion following a personal call from King Charles regarding his cancer diagnosis. Seward observed a noticeable change in Prince Harry's demeanor during his subsequent interview with BBC America.
"I doubt Prince Harry is inclined to pen another book at this point," Seward speculated. "The next potentially explosive memoir would likely come from Meghan, as writing could be her primary source of income moving forward."
Prince Harry's first memoir, "Spare," was co-written with J.R. Moehringer and published by Penguin Random House as part of the Sussexes' lucrative publishing deal established last year.
