Prince William's Memorial Service Absence Has Little Impact, Experts Say

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, resumed his royal duties on Thursday following his absence from a memorial service earlier in the week.

The Prince of Wales withdrew from the royal memorial service for the late King of Greece at short notice on Tuesday, citing "personal reasons."

However, according to royal commentator Gertrude Daly, William's absence did not significantly affect the event. A Greek royal, Crown Prince Pavlos, stepped in to perform a reading during the service, ensuring representation from the British Royal Family.

Kensington Palace promptly reassured the public that the Princess of Wales, presumably Kate Middleton, was "doing well" during William's absence.

Speaking to GB News, Daly emphasized that the Service of Thanksgiving could proceed smoothly despite William's absence, given the ample representation from other family members.

Daly stressed that William's absence, described by the palace as a 'personal reason,' did not raise significant concerns. She highlighted that royals, like everyone else, encounter personal matters that may preclude them from attending events.

Moreover, Daly noted that there were no health issues concerning Kate Middleton, and William appeared in good spirits during his engagements on Thursday, easing worries about his absence.

Prince William's return to royal duties on Thursday included engagements focused on engaging with young people and Holocaust survivors to address the concerning rise in anti-Semitism.
