In a shocking revelation, Charles Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana, has disclosed instances of physical abuse he and his sister endured during their childhood at the hands of a nanny.
Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg on BBC One's "Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg," airing this weekend, the 9th Earl Spencer disclosed that both he and Princess Diana were victims of physical abuse by their nanny, known as Nanny Forster.
Charles recounted harrowing experiences, describing how Nanny Forster would forcefully "crack our heads together" as a form of punishment for perceived misbehavior. He revealed that these incidents occurred unbeknownst to their father and left lasting emotional and physical scars.
"It wasn’t just a light reprimand; it was a severe and painful act," Charles reflected, highlighting the intensity of the abuse they endured.
Despite the traumatic experiences, Charles clarified that he does not blame his parents, the late John Spencer and Frances Spencer, for the actions of the nanny.
In addition to the abuse at home, Charles also alleged misconduct at Maidwell School, where a female staff member reportedly groomed him and other boys. He further claimed that the school's headmaster, John Porch, subjected them to "brutal beatings."
Responding to Charles Spencer's revelations, Maidwell School issued a statement expressing regret and acknowledging the distressing experiences recounted by Spencer and other former students. The school extended its apologies for the pain and trauma endured by those affected.
