Archie and Lilibet Gain an Upper Hand Over Prince Harry Amid Uncertain Royal Destiny

Prince Harry has previously acknowledged considering US citizenship.

Even if the duke opts for US citizenship, there remains a possibility for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children to maintain their royal titles.

The Sussexes have stirred discussion about their plans to permanently settle in America, particularly after Harry's shift in primary residency to the United States.

During an upcoming interview with Good Morning America, the author of "The Spare" revealed intentions to pursue citizenship in his wife’s homeland, acknowledging his contemplation of it.

Immigration lawyer Gita Gorji informed the Daily Express that Harry would need to renounce his royal title to become a US citizen.

“When you take the Oath of Allegiance during your naturalization ceremony to become a USC, you not only renounce ‘all allegiance and fidelity’ to any foreign country,” she explained, “but also renounce all inherited titles or orders of nobility."

However, Gorji elaborated that Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, might still be eligible to retain their noble titles due to a potential loophole.

“Some shrewd lawyers could even argue this to the US Supreme Court since the US Constitution does not explicitly address this, and natural-born US citizens, like the prince’s children, can hold titles of nobility without forfeiting their US citizenship,” Gorji shared.
