Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly reached out to Prince William and Kate Middleton following the public announcement of Kate's cancer diagnosis.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex privately contacted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last night to offer their support during this challenging time.
Royal author Richard Eden commented, “The nature of the communication, whether it was a phone call, video call, or messages of support, remains undisclosed. It's also unclear whether Harry plans to return to the UK in light of this news.”
Shortly after Kate shared a video message revealing her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry released a joint statement expressing their well wishes.
"We extend our heartfelt wishes for Kate's health and recovery, and hope that she and the family find strength and solace during this private and challenging period,” the statement read.
A source informed the New York Post that Meghan and Harry were unaware of Princess Kate’s health condition prior to its public announcement, highlighting the evident disconnect between the exiled royals and the rest of the royal family, including William and Kate.
In her video statement, Kate disclosed that she has commenced preventative chemotherapy following the discovery of cancer during post-operative tests subsequent to abdominal surgery she underwent in January.
Kate reassured the public, stating, “I am well and progressing positively each day. I am focusing on holistic healing, encompassing my mind, body, and spirit.”
