King Charles reportedly made a desperate plea to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle remains steadfast in her refusal to compromise her children's security amid uncertainty over their return to the UK.
Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths, speaking to TalkTV, asserted that the Duchess of Sussex is unlikely to accept King Charles' recent olive branch.
The 75-year-old monarch purportedly extended an invitation to the Sussexes to spend the summer at Balmoral with the royal family in a "desperate" attempt to reunite with his grandchildren.
"Even if Harry decides to go, I can't envision a scenario where Meghan accompanies them with the children. It's truly unfortunate," Griffiths remarked to the host.
The Mail On Sunday's editor-at-large suggested that Meghan may not be fond of the rural lifestyle associated with the royal family.
"She never quite embraced the rustic royal life, with its cold two-bar radiators and boot rooms. Can you imagine Meghan traipsing around the Highlands all summer? I find it difficult to envision, to be honest," the royal expert added.
Reports have emerged about the King's eagerness to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as he continues to undergo treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
