Meghan Markle's reputation faces challenges as her new luxury lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, becomes a target for fake Instagram accounts, raising concerns about her credibility.
Last month, Meghan quietly unveiled American Riviera Orchard on Instagram, quickly garnering over 570,000 followers. The brand is expected to encompass a lifestyle and culinary venture, complemented by an upcoming cooking show on Netflix. Despite its promising start and potential for significant sales, the brand's release date for products remains undisclosed.
However, the rapid growth of the brand's Instagram following comes with a caveat. A "significant" portion of the followers are suspected to be fake accounts or bots, casting a shadow over Meghan's digital brand management.
Stacey Wong, representing the digital marketing agency Own Your Space, commented on the situation: "While American Riviera Orchard boasts a robust following, the presence of a 13.77% 'fake follower' metric highlights the challenges in maintaining brand integrity in the digital realm."
Wong further elaborated, "With 7.25% of followers being suspicious mass followers and 6.52% likely bots or fake accounts, Meghan Markle faces a considerable threat to her brand's authenticity. These fake followers not only skew engagement metrics but also erode the trust and credibility of her online persona."
