As rumors swirl about an upcoming UK trip this May, Meghan Markle seems poised to travel sans Prince Harry.
While her name graces the Invictus Games attendee list for May, the Duchess of Sussex shows little enthusiasm for accompanying Prince Harry to the UK, according to royal historian Marlene Koenig.
"I don't foresee Meghan setting foot in the UK anytime soon," Koenig told GB News. "It seems she's turned the page on that chapter, unless, of course, an event like a funeral calls for her presence."
Koenig pointed out the couple's deep ties to their US residence, noting, "Their lives are firmly rooted in the US."
On a contrasting note, Prince Harry is gearing up for a UK visit to honor the Invictus Games in May at St Paul’s Cathedral. While both Duke and Duchess are slated to attend based on the guest list, Meghan's participation remains uncertain.
Earlier this year, Meghan virtually joined a London event to commemorate her late friend, Oli Juste, and inaugurate a new wing at Mayhew Animal Home.
"That was quite intriguing," Koenig reflected. "It seems she did it out of personal connection with the individual."
Further elaborating on Meghan's shifting royal affiliations, Koenig added, "Having stepped down as a Mayhew patron in April 2022, this gesture likely stemmed from friendship rather than official duties."
Meghan Markle's most recent UK visit dates back to September 2022, marked by her attendance at the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral.
