Prince Harry is reportedly making concerted efforts to mend his strained relationship with Kate Middleton during his upcoming visit to the UK, amidst the Duchess of Cambridge's battle with cancer.
The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to return to the UK in May to commemorate the 10th anniversary of The Invictus Games.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe, speaking to New! magazine, indicated that Prince Harry harbors regrets over the deteriorated relationship with Kate and Prince William since his departure from royal duties alongside Meghan Markle in 2020.
Prince Harry and Kate Middleton once shared a close bond, with the Duke referring to the Duchess as the "sister I never had" during her wedding reception with Prince William.
"Significant events like Kate's health diagnosis can shift perspectives, and Prince Harry is not immune to feelings of regret and contemplation," Larcombe stated. "The collapse of his relationship with Kate and William likely weighs heavily on him," the expert added.
Addressing the reports suggesting that the Sussexes learned about Kate's diagnosis concurrently with the public, Larcombe opined that the fractured relationship between the families likely precluded the sharing of such sensitive information privately.
Expressing hope for a potential reconciliation, Larcombe remarked, "We may witness Prince Harry attempting to reach out and possibly visit Prince William during his UK visit. If given the chance to rewind time, he might choose to do things differently."
