Prince William and Kate Middleton have expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they've received worldwide in response to Friday's significant announcement.
In a statement provided to People Magazine on Saturday by a Kensington Palace representative, it was conveyed, “Both the Prince and Princess have been deeply moved by the heartfelt messages pouring in from individuals within the U.K., across the Commonwealth, and globally, following Her Royal Highness’ poignant message.”
The spokesperson added, “They are genuinely touched by the public’s warmth and support, and they appreciate everyone respecting their request for privacy during this trying time.”
In her candid video message released on Friday, the Princess of Wales opened up about her recent health challenges and prolonged absence. She disclosed her cancer diagnosis, though without specifying the type, revealing that subsequent post-operative tests following her abdominal surgery indicated the presence of cancer.
Describing the diagnosis as an “immense shock,” Kate assured the public of her current well-being, affirming that she is “steadily improving each day.”
In the wake of Kate’s disclosure, the Kensington Palace spokesperson emphasized that no further private medical details would be disclosed. The Princess, like everyone else, is entitled to her medical privacy.
