Prince William and Kate Middleton's Unique Living Arrangements at Kensington Palace Revealed

Prince William and Kate Middleton's living setup at their official residence in Kensington Palace has raised eyebrows due to its unconventional nature.

The Kensington Palace, with its three courtyards, spans four floors. Notably, the top floor is occupied by the royal couple, as outlined by royal author Christopher Warwick on True Royalty's Royal Beat.

Warwick clarified, "All these royal residences at Kensington Palace are termed 'apartments,' which might mislead people into thinking they are flats, akin to the American concept of an apartment. However, they are not." He further elaborated that these residences are essentially "wonderful red brick terrace houses" which are interconnected yet distinct.

While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opted for Adelaide Cottage in September 2022 to embrace a more peaceful lifestyle, their official residence remains Apartment A1 within Kensington Palace.

The floor plan of their apartment, where they settled in 2017, reveals an "unusual" arrangement with bedrooms situated downstairs.

Additionally, their Anmer Hall residence on the Sandringham estate underwent peculiar modifications, costing around two million pounds, as reported by The Mirror.

Royal author Sally Bedell Smith noted that Queen Elizabeth found it challenging to understand why William and Kate positioned the kitchen at the heart of their home.
