Prince William's Heartfelt Promise to Cancer-Stricken Kate Middleton

Prince William made a touching vow to support his wife, Kate Middleton, who is currently battling cancer.

Returning to public duties for the first time since Kate's diagnosis, the Prince of Wales visited the charity Surplus to Supper in Surrey to raise awareness about community efforts to combat food waste.

During the engagement, volunteer Rachel Candappa, 71, presented two get well soon cards to Prince William, addressed to both him and Kate.

Moved by the gesture, William expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you, you are very kind." When Rachel urged him to take care of Kate, William placed his left hand on her shoulder and solemnly promised, "I will."

Reflecting on the encounter, Rachel of Sunbury-on-Thames, shared, "I said take care of her and he said 'I will'."

Prince William, 41, had spent the past three-and-a-half weeks with his wife and children during the Easter holiday, as they processed Kate's diagnosis. In a heartfelt video message to the nation on March 22, Kate appealed for privacy as the family navigated her chemotherapy announcement.

She stated, "We've been doing everything we can to handle this privately for the sake of our young family. It has taken time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay."

William's previous public engagement was on March 19 when he visited Sheffield to promote his Homewards homelessness campaign.
