Amid the royal family's current health crisis, Princess Eugenie finds herself at a crossroads, considering potential advancements within the monarchy.
Calls for Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, to assume more prominent roles in a 'slimmed-down' monarchy have been growing louder.
Grant Harrold, a former butler to Prince Charles, shed light on Princess Eugenie's reservations about expanding her royal responsibilities.
Princess Eugenie, the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, currently balances her private life with husband Jack Brooksbank and their two sons while enjoying the privileges of royal status.
Harrold commented to the New York Post, "Embracing royal duties requires full-time commitment. It's not a role that allows for toggling on and off." He added, "Given Eugenie's passion for carving out her own career, it's understandable she may be hesitant to fully engage in royal duties."
Despite her reservations, Harrold noted that Princess Eugenie would eagerly step into the role of a mediator between her cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry, should the opportunity present itself.
"Eugenie shares a deep bond with both William and Harry," Harrold shared. "Given the chance, she would likely seek to promote reconciliation and serve as a bridge between the two."
