Prince William has effectively repositioned his father, King Charles, to present a unified front against the isolated figure of Prince Harry.
Despite Prince Harry's efforts at reconciliation following his departure from royal duties in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan Markle, he finds himself increasingly marginalized, according to royal expert Christopher Andersen.
Following a meeting between Harry and Charles shortly after the King's cancer diagnosis, hopes for a reconciliation between father and son were buoyed. However, during Harry's recent visit to London, the King declined to meet his youngest son.
"They've made a deliberate choice to disregard Harry, to exclude him, and not allow him to unsettle them amidst the numerous challenges they face," Andersen revealed to Fox News Digital.
"In some ways, I find that even more disheartening. It's often said that hate is not the opposite of love – indifference is."
Furthermore, the royal expert suggested that Harry and Meghan's connections to Africa might have contributed, though not exclusively, to this estrangement.
"The King and Prince William are unfazed when Harry travels abroad, even in the company of Meghan," Andersen observed.
"I don't sense any resentment towards Harry for his African ties. Charles and William have removed Harry from their considerations for a variety of reasons, but embarking on a brief journey with minimal media presence isn't one of them."
