A close friend of King Charles has disclosed details regarding Prince Harry's purported meeting snub.
In efforts to defend the ailing monarch against allegations, friends of King Charles spared no effort during Prince Harry's visit to the UK.
According to a recent report by The Times, royal author Roya Nikkhah shed light on the canceled reunion between the father and son.
They revealed that the King had indeed extended an offer for Prince Harry to stay in a royal residence during his trip, yet the latter opted for a hotel instead.
The friend also dismissed rumors suggesting that the King "refused" to meet his son due to a busy schedule, drawing inspiration from the late Queen Elizabeth II's response following Harry and Meghan Markle's Oprah Winfrey interview.
"While it wasn't expected for him to immediately welcome Prince Harry with open arms amidst his ongoing treatment and recovery," they explained to the outlet, "the notion that he declined to make time in his schedule... well, let's just say memories may differ once again."
For context, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of the late Queen following Harry and Meghan's interview in 2021.
"The concerns raised, particularly regarding matters of race, are troubling. While there may be differing recollections, they are being taken seriously and will be addressed privately within the family," she stated at the time.
Subsequent claims suggest it was Kate Middleton who advocated for the statement as part of a diplomatic response strategy.
