In his efforts to mend fences with his father, who is battling cancer, Prince Harry encounters yet another hurdle after deciding to reconnect.
The Duke of Sussex, known for airing his grievances in his candid memoir, "Spare," is witnessing a shift in dynamics within the royal family, as former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond highlighted on Times Radio.
"In the beginning, it was Harry demanding an apology," Bond explained. "There seemed to be no possibility of reconciliation until he received an apology for what he perceived as offenses against his wife, Meghan Markle."
Bond added that there has been a noticeable change in the situation.
"The messages from Harry's side indicate that he is ready to forgive and still loves his family. He has expressed this sentiment publicly and desires more interaction with them," she continued.
"However, it appears that Charles and William are currently hesitant to embrace reconciliation, so the situation seems to have shifted from one side to the other."
These remarks follow the monarch's rejection of Prince Harry's request for a meeting, which was made a month prior to the Duke's recent visit to London.
During his visit to London, Prince Harry's spokesperson informed the British press that the Duke understands his father's prior commitments and busy schedule, which prevented the meeting from taking place.
