King Charles Rejects Prince Harry's Request to Stay in Windsor Castle

Prince Harry's upcoming visit to the UK has hit a snag as his request to stay in Windsor Castle has been denied by King Charles III, according to reports from GB News.

The Duke of Sussex, who is scheduled to attend an Invictus Games event in London next week, had hoped to stay in the castle during his visit. However, his request has been shattered by the royal family's decision.

Prince Harry will instead stay in a hotel during his trip to the UK, where he is set to give a reading at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the games he founded in 2014.

This rejection marks another setback for Prince Harry, who, along with Meghan Markle, no longer has a UK base after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles in the summer of 2023.

Despite their request, the couple had rarely used the royal residence since stepping down as working members of the royal family and relocating to the US in 2020.

Previous requests by Prince Harry to stay at Windsor Castle have also been denied, with Buckingham Palace citing a lack of notice as the reason for the denial.

While in the UK, Prince Harry's itinerary includes a possible meeting with King Charles and Prince William. However, his stay is not expected to be prolonged, as he and Meghan are scheduled to undertake an unofficial royal tour in Nigeria shortly after the Invictus event.

During Prince Harry's visit, his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to remain in the US with their mother. Notably, King Charles, Prince William, and other senior members of the royal family are not expected to attend the event next Wednesday.
