Amidst reports that King Charles planned to send a £18,000 gift to Archie for his fifth birthday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have refuted claims made by a royal expert suggesting they denied the gift.
Royal expert Tom Quinn recently spoke to The Mirror, stating that the 75-year-old monarch intended to gift Archie with a lavish present. However, Meghan and Harry declined the gift, allegedly wanting Archie's birthday to be associated with American traditions.
Quinn detailed, "Charles also suggested that he give Archie a playhouse not a plastic child's playhouse, but a superb hand-made shepherd's hut, complete with bunks and bookshelves." He further explained, "He would love to give Archie something similar but knows that Meghan and Harry are against it. Meghan wants Archie to associate his birthday with all things American because Archie is already constantly asking about his royal family in the UK."
However, sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have denied these claims, as reported by OK! magazine. They have denied any incident of rejecting King Charles' gift at Archie’s birthday celebration.
