Meghan Markle's upcoming major plan revealed
Despite reports indicating she won't accompany her husband Prince Harry to the UK in May, Meghan Markle is gearing up to surprise fans shortly after Harry's participation in the Invictus Games event.
The Duchess of Sussex is poised to journey to Nigeria alongside the Duke, accepting an invitation from the country's chief of defence staff to engage in cultural activities.
Harry and Meghan will embark on an unofficial royal tour just days after the Duke's London visit, where he is slated to deliver a reading at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8, commemorating the Invictus Games' tenth anniversary.
Expected to wrap up his UK trip within two days, the Duke of Sussex will then swiftly head to Nigeria to reunite with Meghan.
Former Suits star Meghan disclosed in 2022 that she has Nigerian ancestry, discovering it through a genealogy test. "I'm going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I've told, especially Nigerian women, are like 'What!,'" she shared on her Archetypes podcast.
Since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022, Meghan has not visited the UK. Harry's most recent trip to the UK occurred in February 2024 after Buckingham Palace announced King Charles's cancer diagnosis.
During his 45-minute stay at Clarence House, Harry solely met with his cancer-stricken father, King Charles. He did not encounter the Prince and Princess of Wales during his brief visit.
However, Harry's forthcoming UK visit will mark his first since Princess Kate's emotional video statement regarding her cancer diagnosis and treatment. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's father could potentially meet William and Kate during this highly anticipated trip.
