Meghan Markle is reportedly planning a tell-all book.
King Charles is said to be "horrified" at the lengths Meghan Markle might go to in order to boost the profile of her new business.
Speculation about a potential memoir from the Duchess of Sussex has been rife, fueled by her and Prince Harry's multi-book deal with Penguin Random House.
Royal expert Tom Quinn, speaking to the Mirror, suggested that the 75-year-old monarch avoided meeting Prince Harry during his recent UK visit to prevent being featured in “a book written by Meghan.”
Quinn also posits that the former Suits star might use the book to generate revenue for her newly launched business, American Riviera Orchard.
"There was a sigh of relief at Kensington Palace and Clarence House when Harry seemed to abandon the idea of a second book following his bestseller Spare, but now the focus has shifted to Meghan," Quinn said.
"For all her efforts to make a success of her new online business, American Riviera Orchard, Meghan knows that a personal memoir of her time in the UK as a working royal would sell millions of copies and bring in significant revenue," he continued.
"She is also keenly aware that such a book would drive traffic to her new business. This prospect fills King Charles with horror, as Harry is likely to be a major contributor to the memoir," Quinn added.
