Meghan Markle's presence in Prince Harry's life has been scrutinized, with claims that she has exacerbated the rift between Harry and the royal family. A recent report suggests that Meghan has acted as "gasoline on an open flame," intensifying the Duke's strained relationship with his family.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, speaking on TalkTV, analyzed Harry's recent visit to the UK and his trip to Nigeria with Meghan. Schofield described Meghan as "highly insecure" and accused her of encouraging Harry's negative behavior towards his family.
"(Meghan’s) certainly gasoline on an open flame. Harry’s always been resentful of the blessed position he was born into," Schofield remarked.
She also pointed out Meghan's estrangement from her own father, who has severe health issues. Schofield suggested a parallel between Meghan's and King Charles's situations, saying, "If we’re going to be critical of the King for wanting to distance himself from Prince Harry for being the toxic element of their family, for leaking secrets, for being critical about his family, for trying to tear down the monarchy, you have to acknowledge that Meghan refuses to talk to her father for similar things."
Schofield claimed that Meghan moved the royal family to tears, indicating that the discord began when she joined the family. "Meghan certainly gives Harry some sort of false confidence or false justification for his actions and I do think he wouldn’t behave as poorly if he didn’t have her in the background cheering him on," she added.
Furthermore, Schofield cited royal author Tom Quinn, who alleged that Meghan's behavior towards Kensington Palace staff was driven by her insecurity and desire for respect. "She was cruel to staff at Kensington Palace because she was paranoid they were never going to respect her and acknowledge her as a royal, so to try and ensure they respected her, she bullied them," Schofield said.
Regarding the Nigeria trip, Schofield criticized the Sussexes for portraying themselves as still active royals, asserting that their royal status is the only significant aspect they have to offer.
