Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face a popularity challenge among women
To address this, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enlisted a correspondent from People magazine to cover their current trip to Nigeria.
Celebrity branding expert Doug Eldridge weighed in on the decision, suggesting that this move could help the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shift attention away from ongoing royal drama.
Additionally, targeting a female audience, the primary demographic of People magazine, appears to be part of their strategy.
“People magazine… has a primarily female readership," Eldridge explained to Fox News Digital. "Harry's popularity with women has declined, while Markle is often seen as the outsider who separated him from his already fractured family.
“This is a strategic step to reframe the couple — and more importantly, their character — in a more favorable light for the female demographic, which has largely turned against them, both individually and as a couple,” he continued.
"If they're committed to the long game, they will approach this carefully, like easing into a clutch and accelerator; forcing the Markle narrative could 'grind gears' and create a lot of friction.
"Over time, that’s how you burn out an engine,” Eldridge cautioned.
