Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Deny Claims of Archewell 'Delinquency'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's charity, the Archewell Foundation, has been suspended over alleged outstanding payments, but the couple disputes these claims.

Following a visit to Nigeria, the Sussexes were served a notice of delinquency for supposedly unpaid taxes and bills by their foundation. However, a source close to Harry and Meghan told MailOnline that the notice resulted from a processing error by officials at California Attorney General Rob Bonta's office, who did not process a $200 cheque intended for their annual registration.

The source clarified that all tax filings were completed and submitted in full compliance with regulations, as widely reported in December 2023. Despite this, the Registry of Charities and Fundraisers, part of California's Department of Justice, stated that Archewell had "failed to properly submit its annual report or renewal fees," leading to its suspension from "fundraising or distributing charitable funds."

The insider explained, "The California state filing, renewal, and required payment were sent and delivered to the Attorney General's office via tracked mail, and received on time."
