Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Nigeria Visit Seen as Power Play Against King Charles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wrapped up their tour of Nigeria this week, a trip that royal commentators suggest may be a strategic move to influence King Charles.

Invited by Nigeria's top military official, Christopher Musa, the Sussexes spent three days in the country. They promoted mental health initiatives for youth through their Archewell Foundation and highlighted the Invictus Games, which Nigeria joined for the first time last year.

Speaking on GB News with Nana Akua, royal commentator Angela Levin described the trip as "very dangerous," suggesting that Harry and Meghan aim to "take over" from King Charles.

Levin explained, "Harry says it's crucial to meet directly with people supporting our causes and listen to bring about solutions, support, and positive change. There's a lot wrong with that because it's not his job. He's not a working member of the Royal Family. He's not working for them, yet he's trying to repair things and handle issues as if he were."

She continued, "The implication is they want to visit other places and take over from the King and the family, especially since it's difficult for the Royals to travel abroad due to the cancer issue."

Levin emphasized, "I think it's very, very dangerous." However, Nana Akua pointed out, "The Nigerians didn't buy into it though."

Harry and Meghan have hinted that this trip to Nigeria is just the beginning, with more tours being planned.

The Duke of Sussex told People, “It is hugely important for us to meet directly with people, supporting our causes and listening, in order to bring about solutions, support, and positive change. There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to travelling more because the work matters. Whether it’s the Archewell Foundation, Invictus, or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work.”
