Prince William and Prince Harry did not cross paths during William's recent visit to the UK.
William's decision to keep his distance from Harry during the trip has been validated, according to a friend.
In a conversation with The Daily Beast, a royal insider commented on the royal family's stance towards the Duke of Sussex, who returned to the UK to attend the Invictus Games service at St. Paul's Cathedral earlier this week.
For those unaware, King Charles cited a packed schedule to avoid a one-on-one meeting with Harry. Additionally, no royal family members attended the Wednesday event despite invitations being extended.
"Even if Charles was genuinely too busy to meet Harry and lacked the staff to send anyone to St. Paul's, his aides could have easily issued a statement or posted a congratulatory message for Invictus on social media," the source stated.
"The fact that they didn’t indicates a clear intention to discourage Harry from spending more time in the UK. Charles will never support a hostile, rival royal presence on his doorstep," they elaborated.
"Instead, Charles made it clear that Harry is not welcome to conduct official, quasi-royal events in the UK that divert attention from the monarchy's message and agenda."
A confidant of the monarch and Queen Camilla echoed this sentiment, saying, "Charles is trying his best to fulfill his duties under challenging circumstances. Harry claims to love his family, but his actions suggest otherwise.
"It's reminiscent of how he professed his love for Queen Elizabeth while simultaneously criticizing the monarchy she dedicated her life to. Nothing has changed. We're back to square one."
A friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton added, "People now understand why the brothers remain as distant as ever. It's very sad, but William is right not to trust him."
