Prince William and Queen Camilla are seen as significant barriers to improving relations with Prince Harry.
Harry, who recently visited the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, wishes to reconnect with his sister-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Once "very close" to Catherine, Harry was deeply affected by the news of her cancer diagnosis. However, royal author Christopher Andersen claims that Prince William is preventing any contact between Harry and Catherine due to ongoing tensions.
Four years after Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and relocated to the US with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry appears ready for reconciliation. Yet, according to Andersen, author of The King, Prince William is not "willing to let his brother anywhere near his ailing wife," making reconciliation seem "extremely slim" due to the drama between the brothers and their wives.
As Harry marked the Invictus Games anniversary, he did not meet with his father, King Charles, or his brother. Andersen told Fox News Digital, "Harry would love to reconnect with Kate. They were once extremely close, and Harry was hit hard by the news of her cancer diagnosis, which he learned about just like the rest of us, via Kate's shocking video."
He continued, "Unfortunately, it doesn't appear [Prince] William is willing to let his brother anywhere near his ailing wife. There was just too much drama between the brothers and their wives, and there is lingering bitterness on everyone's part. So, the chances of even a meeting between Harry and the rest of the royal family, much less some sort of reconciliation, seem extremely slim."
In March, Catherine, 42, revealed she is battling cancer, following weeks of speculation about her health. Meanwhile, a royal commentator claims that King Charles's trust in Harry has "gone," as the father and son did not meet during Harry's latest UK visit.
Sarah-Louise Robertson, speaking to GB News, noted that Queen Camilla has become "very protective" of King Charles following his cancer diagnosis and the Sussexes' continued outbursts. "Camilla is very protective, she can't have anything upset King Charles right now. It's just too much for him," Robertson explained.
