Prince William Makes First Appearance Since Succeeding King Charles as Colonel-in-Chief of Army Air Corps
Prince William was all smiles as he stepped out for the first time since taking on a major role from his father, King Charles.
The Prince of Wales, who recently became Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, attended an event at the Royal Society in London on Thursday.
The future king’s outing comes just days after Queen Camilla warmly welcomed Rose Hanbury at an event. Hanbury recently made headlines for her alleged close relationship with Prince William.
William appeared in good spirits at the conference, donning a black suit, white shirt, and patterned blue tie, as he joined the event titled "The World Together Solving the Antibiotic Emergency."
During the event, King Charles' eldest son celebrated global efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance and strengthen health systems, food security, and climate resilience.
According to medical experts, antimicrobial resistance occurs when the microbes that cause infections develop resistance to treatments like antibiotics, making infections difficult or impossible to treat.
At the event, William heard from survivors of antimicrobial resistance and listened to Lord Darzi, who provided an update on The Fleming Initiative.
William, the patron of The Fleming Initiative, emphasized the urgency of the issue: "Unless we act now and together, the ripple effects of drug resistance will be felt across generations, jeopardizing the wellbeing of our children and grandchildren."
"I am, however, hopeful. Thanks to the efforts and expertise of many, including those in this room, we now better understand the scale of the AMR threat," he continued, highlighting new technologies and innovations.
Following the conference, William hosted a private reception at St. James’ Palace for attendees.
