Prince William Backs Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to Step Up Amid Kate's Absence

Prince William encourages Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to take on more roles during Kate's leave, according to GB News' Royal Correspondent.

In May, Prince William hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace alongside his cousins Beatrice and Eugenie, filling in for the King and Princess Kate.

The event also saw the attendance of Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester despite the rainy weather.

In the latest episode of GB News' royal podcast, "The Royal Record," Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker and Digital Royal Editor Svar Nanan-Sen discussed the possibility of the prince's cousins assuming additional responsibilities.

Addressing the question of the cousins' support for William, Cameron remarked, "It was a pleasant surprise. Prince William hopes to see his cousins play a more informal role in engagements."

While William's cousins are not official working royals, they frequently participate in Royal Family events.

With fewer royals available for public engagements due to Princess Kate and the King's cancer treatment, there's been talk of a "slimmed-down monarchy."

Cameron suggested, "The notion of a slimmed-down monarchy might soon be outdated. Prince William is following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II by rallying his cousins to assist, akin to how the late Queen relied on her own supportive cousins, children, and grandchildren for royal events."

He added, "I anticipate seeing more of Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, and Peter Philips representing the Royal Family in an informal capacity. However, this doesn't imply they'll become official working royals."

According to the Telegraph, the Prince of Wales may extend similar invitations to include the wider family in future Royal Family events.

After the garden party, Princess Eugenie posted a message on social media emphasizing the importance of "supporting family."
