Princess Beatrice made a significant statement during a rare appearance on ITV’s This Morning over the weekend, subtly hinting at her willingness to take on royal duties.
Standing atop the iconic Empire State Building in New York for an event in partnership with the charity Outward Bound, Princess Beatrice also provided an update on her mother's health, who is battling cancer, while expressing admiration for the TV show.
Royal commentator Phil Dampier suggested to MailOnline that Beatrice's decision to appear on television was a deliberate move to position herself as a potential working royal, particularly in the absence of Kate Middleton.
"I sense that Beatrice and Eugenie are increasing their involvement in charity work and dropping subtle hints to the King that they would be open to assuming some royal duties if called upon," Dampier commented.
"Bea and Eugenie could potentially take on minor roles, but the challenge lies in trying to balance being partly involved with the royal family, as Harry and Meghan have found," the royal expert elaborated.
During her TV appearance, Princess Beatrice also reflected on her mother's resilience amidst her battle with skin cancer earlier this year.
“She has endured so much," Beatrice shared. "Her determination and strength serve as an inspiration to me."
"Now, more than ever, she's truly coming into her own. It serves as a reminder that when faced with health challenges, it's crucial to undergo necessary screenings as early as possible," the princess added, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
