King Charles III has left Queen Camilla and royal aides deeply concerned about his health as he intensifies his royal tour schedule despite battling cancer.
The monarch's decision to accelerate his royal engagements has sent shockwaves through Buckingham Palace, with aides and well-wishers urging him to prioritize his health. Queen Camilla, 76, is reportedly among those asking the 75-year-old King to "slow down," amid growing fears for his wellbeing.
Camilla may have to "put her foot down" as the King remains adamant about maintaining his busy schedule. A source close to the Queen mentioned, "She has been trying to encourage him to slow down. He wants to keep going, but she fears that overexertion could worsen his condition."
King Charles is determined to proceed with a planned tour to Australia, followed by a trip to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in mid-October. The Palace has confirmed that preparations for these trips are ongoing.
A friend of Camilla's told The Daily Beast, "I wonder if Camilla will support him going to Australia. She's not one to be forceful, but she might suggest, 'Come on now darling, is this really sensible?'"
Since resuming his duties, the King has shown no signs of slowing down. Last week, he hosted a garden party for 7,000 guests at Buckingham Palace. On Monday, he visited an army base for a significant joint engagement with his son, Prince William, during which he handed over a key military role to him.
This surge in activity comes shortly after reports that Charles was too busy to meet Prince Harry during his visit to London. The King has maintained a packed schedule of public engagements, including attending the Order of the British Empire service at St Paul's Cathedral.
Looking ahead, King Charles' official birthday celebrations, known as Trooping the Colour, are set for next month. While there is speculation that the King may ride on horseback, he might be persuaded to use a state carriage for the occasion, given the concerns about his health.
