At the King's birthday celebrations today, Princess Charlotte drew attention for mirroring her mother, Duchess Kate, in various ways, as noted by a body language expert cited by the Mirror.
The Duchess announced her attendance at yesterday's annual Trooping the Colour event alongside Prince William, their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—and the entire Royal Family at Buckingham Palace. This marks her highly anticipated return to the spotlight and the children's first major royal appearance of the year.
All three children appeared in high spirits, with 10-year-old George displaying impeccable behavior, 6-year-old Louis exhibiting his usual playful antics, and Charlotte charming in a navy dress with a white bow, her hair neatly tied back.
Charlotte not only matched her mother's outfit but also mimicked her gestures and demeanor. Body language expert Judi James observed several resemblances between the young princess and Kate, noting Charlotte's "pitch-perfect" royal smile and enthusiastic waves to fans along The Mall.
Speaking to the Mirror, Judi explained: "Sweetly and adorably, it seemed Charlotte was stepping into some of her mother's body language rituals. Her smile from the carriage was so reminiscent of Kate's perfect royal smile, and she engaged with the crowds with her eyes as she waved."
Charlotte also took the initiative to clear the carriage windows when rain caused them to fog up. Using her bare hands, the young princess wiped away the condensation to ensure onlookers could see her and her siblings passing by. Meanwhile, Kate smiled and Louis waved.
During the balcony appearance, Charlotte appeared to take charge, reminding Louis of protocol by instructing him to stand straight with hands at his sides during the national anthem.
Judi noted: "As Kate and her children watched from the open window, Kate stood at the back of the group while Charlotte beamed down with an expression of pride, even seeming to whisper to Louis to ensure he stood as she did during the National Anthem."
The Duchess of Cambridge's influence on Princess Charlotte's poise and behavior drew admiration and praise during the event.
