Kate Middleton Won't Appear on Balcony Amid 'Upstaging' Concerns

Kensington Palace and Kate Middleton's medical team remain silent about Catherine's return to public life.

A new report suggests that Kate Middleton, currently away from public life due to her cancer treatment, is unlikely to join King Charles and other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour on June 15.

The Princess of Wales is expected to miss the year's biggest royal event due to concerns about "upstaging" the occasion.

Kensington Palace has not confirmed whether Kate, who is focusing on her health and recovering privately, will appear with her family on the balcony at the King’s birthday parade this weekend.

Last week, the future Queen's emotional message sparked speculation about her return to public duties, as she expressed her hope to resume her role representing the Irish Guards "very soon."

However, a source close to the princess advised against overanalyzing her message.

"I think this idea that Kate is suddenly going to pop up on the balcony on Saturday is far-fetched," said another source. "It would be wonderful, of course, but more than slightly bizarre given that she bowed out of the colonel’s review."

Another insider claimed, "Kate's appearance will steal King Charles' show. She won't take the risk of angering her father-in-law."

When asked about the likelihood of Prince William bringing their children, royal author Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight, "They’ve been up there several times now. They are always impeccably behaved, often entertaining, and they always seem to enjoy it. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if William decides to bring them."

"They’re not working members of the Royal Family yet, but they will be," she continued. "Prince George is a future king, so for the public to be able to see George, Charlotte, and Louis on occasions like this is really quite important."

Meanwhile, King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, has confirmed his attendance at the event. However, some parts of the annual celebration have been altered, with the King riding in a horse-drawn carriage alongside Queen Camilla instead of on horseback, according to the palace.
