King Charles Issues Heartfelt Statement as Japanese Emperor Visits UK

King Charles and Queen Camilla Extend Warm Welcome to Japanese Emperor and Empress

King Charles and Queen Camilla warmly greeted Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at Horse Guards Parade in London.

Photos shared on June 25 by the royal family's official page featured the Japanese royalty alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William.

In a statement, the royal family expressed, "The Emperor and Empress of Japan have been officially welcomed to the UK by Their Majesties during a ceremony at Horse Guards Parade in London. The Welsh Guards presented a Guard of Honour, giving a Royal Salute while the Japanese National Anthem played."

Tragically, Princess Anne, the Monarch's active working sister, will miss the state banquet for the Emperor and Empress at Buckingham Palace due to injuries sustained in a recent accident on Sunday evening. She is currently hospitalized for treatment of her injuries and concussion.

A Palace spokesman, as reported by The Independent, stated, "Her Royal Highness’s engagements for the week ahead will be postponed," with further apologies extended "to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed."

Despite Princess Anne's absence, the Japanese State Visit will proceed as scheduled, although Her Royal Highness will be unable to attend the State banquet.
