King Charles III is open to reconciling with his estranged son, Prince Harry, but under one crucial condition, according to a recent report.
Despite his health struggles, the King is reportedly willing to welcome the Duke of Sussex back into the royal fold, provided Harry assures him that he will no longer embarrass the royal family. This includes refraining from writing more books about them or giving controversial interviews, royal expert Tom Quinn claims.
"King Charles would love to be closer to Harry and have a functional relationship with his son," Quinn told the Mirror. "However, this hinges on Harry giving his father cast-iron guarantees that there will be no more books or embarrassing interviews."
Quinn added, "Harry still feels like he is the victim and believes his family should make promises to him, rather than the other way around."
The expert further explained, "Harry’s comment in his memoir Spare about wanting peace with the royal family for the sake of his mother is undoubtedly heartfelt. However, by focusing so much on Diana, Harry is, in a sense, allowing history to repeat itself."
Other royal commentators and historians have also suggested that Harry needs to adjust his attitude and behavior towards his family if he truly wishes to mend fences with them.
