Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's influence appears to be waning over time, with their recent announcements often seeming out of sync with significant royal events. According to royal commentator Jennie Bond, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are becoming increasingly "irrelevant" as senior royals focus on empathetic acts and meaningful gestures.
Bond highlighted how Meghan's introduction of new products for her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, coincided with Kate Middleton's return to the public eye during the Trooping the Colour parade amid her cancer treatment. Similarly, Meghan's announcement of a new business venture came just before Prince William's tribute speech to his late mother, Princess Diana.
Despite these overlaps, Bond doubts there is any deliberate scheming on Harry and Meghan's part, stating, "Surely they are bigger than that?" She emphasized that the Royal Family continues to command attention, overshadowing the Sussexes' efforts.
Bond also praised King Charles for his compassionate gesture towards Lady Gabriella Kingston at Royal Ascot, which drew significant attention. "The death of Gabriella's husband shocked the whole family, and I'm sure they have all tried to help in what is a deeply sensitive situation. But what a lovely gesture by the King to invite her into the carriage - and on the first day of Royal Ascot," she remarked.
