Reports suggest that Meghan Markle faced a stern rebuke from the late Queen during a food tasting event before her wedding to Prince Harry, leaving her reportedly "very upset."
The former Suits star allegedly expressed dissatisfaction during the taste-testing for her 2018 wedding and vocalized her displeasure, notably claiming she could "taste egg" in one of the dishes prepared.
According to a royal author, Meghan was informed there was no egg in the dish, but she persisted, reportedly stating, "No, I can taste it."
Royal author Katie Nicholl, speaking to Yahoo's Royal Box, recounted that Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in 2022, then intervened. Nicholl claims the late monarch entered the room at Windsor Castle and "quietly took Meghan to the side," telling her firmly that "the Royal Family does not speak to people like that."
These resurfaced alleged comments come in the wake of reports about the First Lady of Nigeria addressing apparent criticism towards Meghan during the Sussexes' recent trip to Nigeria. Reports initially suggested Oluremi Tinubu had rebuked Meghan for her attire during a speech at an event marking President Bola Tinubu's one year in office.
However, Nigeria's First Lady has since refuted these claims, clarifying that her remarks were directed at young Nigerian women in general. The TV station that filmed the speech also denied that Tinubu had criticized Meghan. Tinubu's office explained that the reported comments were taken out of context, emphasizing that she expressed appreciation for Meghan's visit to Nigeria and made no remarks about her attire.
