Royal expert Kinsey Schofield claimed on her YouTube podcast that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are leveraging the public's love for Diana to manipulate their audience. Schofield argues that the couple is exploiting the image of the "People's Princess" to make people "tolerate their bad behaviour."
Schofield also criticized Meghan for emulating Diana, asserting that the Suits actress "lacks Diana's key characteristic of authenticity." She noted, "Diana was trapped in a loveless marriage, whereas Meghan has a man who has sacrificed everything and everyone for her. Her victim card is maxed out."
Additionally, it has been reported that Prince William is upset over Meghan's "tasteless" comparisons to his mother. According to a source cited by Closer Magazine, "William doesn’t want to deprive Harry of the right to celebrate their mother’s legacy. What bothers him is how Meghan is paraded around as the modern-day version of Diana. He finds that beyond tasteless and offensive, not only to him but also to Kate."
