Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has encountered a setback as a copycat website has allegedly "stolen the Duchess of Sussex's initiative" by using the name of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
The imitation site is selling products such as adult colouring books, including one titled "Working Class Royalty," which retails for $9.99 (£7.89). The website is known for its anti-monarchy stance and launched shortly after Meghan, 42, announced her lifestyle brand.
Meghan's brand, which soft-launched earlier this year with an Instagram page and website, has yet to list any products for sale. In March, Meghan marked her return to Instagram through this new venture but hasn't updated the brand’s social media since. In April, she sent 50 jars of her homemade strawberry jam to influencers and celebrity friends across the US as part of the brand's promotion.
