As Meghan Markle approaches the third anniversary of her miscarriage, she is overcome with a mixture of emotions.
The Duchess of Sussex publicly shared the painful experience of losing her baby a year after Prince Archie’s birth in a heartfelt article in July 2020.
Speaking to OK! magazine, a source revealed that the weeks leading up to the anniversary are particularly difficult for her.
“She feels incredibly blessed to have Archie and Lili and the family she and Harry have created. But naturally, as the anniversary of her miscarriage approaches, she feels a deep sadness. The date is very poignant for her.”
“Nevertheless, Meghan always looks toward the future and remains deeply grateful for the joy she shares with Harry and their children.”
In an op-ed for The New York Times, the former actress recalled the moment she and Prince Harry faced the devastating news.
“Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears.
“Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal. ‘Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief,’” she wrote at the time.
