Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, has opened up about the lingering pain caused by his strained relationship with Prince Harry. In a candid interview, the 79-year-old, nearing his 80th birthday, shared his bewilderment over not having met Harry despite his daughter dating him for eight years.
"I reflect back on my life, approaching 80, and one question haunts me: why didn't Harry ever come to meet me?" Markle lamented to the Mail on Sunday. "He has the means to travel anywhere, yet he never visited, despite encouragements from royal aides."
Markle, who is no longer in contact with his daughter Meghan, expressed deep confusion over the situation, particularly noting the involvement of Jason Knauf, the former communications secretary for Harry and Meghan. Knauf's role in advising the couple on managing familial relationships has come under scrutiny, with evidence suggesting he mediated during periods of media attention surrounding Markle's relationship with Meghan.
"When I think about all that's transpired in the last six years, it's overshadowed my life," Markle admitted. "It's perplexing to me that Harry didn't take the opportunity to meet me. What kind of man marries without meeting his wife's father?"
