Meghan Markle’s Future in Royal Family Hinges on Reconciliation with Ailing Father

Meghan Markle's strained relationship with her family, particularly her ailing father, is seen as a crucial step before any potential reconciliation with the royal family.

Royal commentator Maureen Callahan, speaking to GB News America, highlighted the prolonged estrangement between Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle Sr., lasting over six years. Since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan has also been estranged from her half-siblings, Thomas Markle Jr. and Samantha, over issues of privacy intrusion.

Callahan noted, "She probably won't listen to the best minds around her. This reminds me of our last conversation about Meghan and her inability, for whatever reason, to mend fences with her own sick father."

The Daily Mail columnist emphasized the importance of Meghan reconciling with her father as a first step toward repairing relations not only with the royal family but also with the British people who extended goodwill to her during her wedding.

"Step number one, I think, would be to very quietly make amends with her own father. Show that charity begins at home, and then you make the slow approach to the royals, whom you have so denigrated and accused of terrible things, while you monetized all these accusations," Callahan elaborated.

She cautioned against alienating the royals entirely, suggesting that Meghan may be overreacting by completely severing ties and opting for a luxurious lifestyle away from the UK.

Reconciliation with her father, Callahan suggested, could pave the way for a broader healing process within Meghan's familial relationships and potentially lead to a path of reconciliation with the royal family.
