The Duke of Sussex, who stepped down from his royal duties in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan Markle, is reportedly adamant about finding a home in the UK as he grapples with the longing for his previous life.
Royal author Tom Quinn revealed to The Mirror that as time passes, Harry finds himself missing aspects of his old life in the UK. Quinn noted, "Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles."
One of the driving factors behind Harry's desire for a UK residence is his longing to reconnect with his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited due to strained relationships with Meghan.
Quinn explained, "He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan."
Despite his legal battles to secure the level of security he had as a senior working royal in the UK, Harry remains committed to finding his own permanent home in the UK.
Prince Harry's quest for a permanent UK residence comes amidst efforts to reconcile with the royal family, particularly in light of his father King Charles's recent cancer diagnosis.
Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage in February 2023, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have continued to explore options for a permanent home in the UK.
