Prince Harry Questions Prince Andrew's Security Arrangements

Amidst Controversy, Prince Andrew Retains Royal Police Protection

Prince Harry has raised concerns over the security arrangements for his uncle, Prince Andrew, amidst heavy criticism.

The Duke of York faced intense scrutiny following his association with convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein. Allegations arose that Andrew engaged in s*xual relations with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 years old.

Giuffre asserted that she was trafficked by Epstein and his associates for s*xual purposes, with Andrew vehemently denying the allegations.

Despite the scandal, Prince Andrew retained his royal police protection, a decision that Prince Harry found disconcerting, branding the situation "embarrassing."

In his memoir, Spare, Harry expressed his dismay, stating, "Despite his involvement in a shameful scandal and accusations of s*xual misconduct, no one had proposed revoking his security."

These comments resurface amidst speculation that King Charles may sever ties with his brother, following Andrew's refusal to relocate to Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Harry and Meghan Markle.

While Andrew holds a long lease on the Royal Lodge, Charles has cautioned him about the repercussions of remaining, particularly due to neglected maintenance issues and failure to contribute to its upkeep costs.

A royal insider disclosed to The Times, "The King's generosity has its limits, and there is a viable option for Andrew to reside in Frogmore Cottage, recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which also offers the advantage of being within Windsor Castle's security perimeter, thereby reducing the need for additional security measures at the Royal Lodge."

Currently, Charles foots the bill for Andrew's security expenses, amounting to £3 million annually. The source further noted Andrew's reluctance to acknowledge the urgency of the situation, stating that he is "taking longer than preferable" to grasp the reality.

Despite the pressure, Andrew shows no inclination to relocate. A friend of his suggested to the publication that he may "dig in" if the standoff persists, citing his recent health issues and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson's support as factors contributing to his stance.
