Prince Harry to Address Rift with Thomas Markle in Upcoming Memoir

Prince Harry could shed light on his estrangement from Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, in his forthcoming memoir.

In a discussion with GB News, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that the Duke of Sussex's new book might delve into the reasons behind his and Meghan's strained relationship with her father. "Before the engagement, it has never been explained why Harry has never met Thomas Markle," Fitzwilliams noted. "This is a topic that could be clarified in the future memoir, though it's a very sad situation."

Thomas Markle recently made headlines with an emotional plea to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Speaking to The Mirror, the 80-year-old expressed concerns about how he has been treated by Harry and Meghan, as well as by King Charles and the rest of the royal family.

“I would love to speak to [the King] because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do. Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received,” Thomas Markle stated.

Fitzwilliams was skeptical about the potential for reconciliation, saying, "It’s not going to be resolved. Thomas's appeal to King Charles is unlikely to lead to any action."

He further commented on the broader context, adding, "The Royal Family currently has other priorities. Addressing this issue is not at the top of their list at the moment."
