Prince Harry, who embarked on a new life with Meghan Markle after stepping down from royal duties in 2020, is reportedly feeling the strain following another perceived royal snub.
The Duke of Sussex has experienced a turbulent relationship with the royal family since his departure from his senior royal role. The latest move by King Charles and Prince William has deepened Harry's sense of disapproval, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.
"For the second year in a row, Harry and Meghan have not been invited to Trooping the Colour, which coincides with King Charles’ official birthday. Although this was not unexpected, it still hurts," Quinn told the Mirror.
Quinn elaborated on Harry's possible feelings in response to this exclusion, stating: "After missing the Duke of Westminster’s recent wedding and now being left out of Trooping the Colour, Harry is feeling the increasing weight of royal disapproval. It's particularly frustrating for him because he once believed his absence would prompt efforts to bring him back, but those days are long gone."
Despite not attending such events, Quinn noted that the Sussexes still desire an official invitation. "The Sussexes want to be invited to these things even if they then decide not to attend," he said.
Earlier this month, Harry stayed away from Trooping the Colour, where Princess Kate made her public return.
In a critical commentary, Cundy told GBN America: "Let’s not forget, King Charles, a 75-year-old man battling cancer, stood in the pouring rain fulfilling his duties at Trooping the Colour. It's incredible and highlights everything Harry isn't."
Contrasting with Harry's apparent Father's Day snub, Prince William shared a heartfelt throwback photo of himself as a child with his father, captioned: "Happy Father’s Day, Pa. W."
Additionally, Buckingham Palace celebrated Prince William's birthday by releasing an endearing baby picture of him with King Charles, seemingly signaling that the monarch no longer needs Harry following his and Meghan's actions against the royal family.
