Prince William Attends Garter Day Service as Kate Middleton Misses Event

Today, Prince William represented the royal family at the Garter Day service held at Windsor Castle, as his wife Kate Middleton was unable to attend.

The annual celebration, marking the ancient Order of the Garter, saw King Charles, Queen Camilla, and various members of the royal family in attendance, signaling the commencement of the busy royal summer season.

Reflecting on the significance of the day, Prince William shared his thoughts, stating, "Celebrating the Order of the Garter in Windsor today. A timeless tradition for over six centuries that recognizes public service across a variety of backgrounds. With thanks to Lady Companion of the Garter Baroness Amos for her insight."

The Garter Day service is a traditional event that honors new appointments to the prestigious Order of the Garter, the oldest British Order of Chivalry.

Following the service, the royal family returned to the castle by carriage. Notably absent from both the Garter Day service and Trooping the Colour was Prince Andrew.

This year, King Charles appointed Baroness Manningham-Buller as the Chancellor of the Order of the Garter and The Lord Ashton of Hyde as the Master of the Horse, continuing the traditions and ceremonies that have defined the Order for centuries.
