Queen Camilla 'Relieved' by King Charles' Setback

Queen Camilla had doubts about King Charles' decision to resume royal duties.

Queen Camilla reportedly feels a sense of relief over the unexpected delay in royal engagements due to the upcoming UK elections.

In an interview with OK! magazine, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond disclosed that while King Charles is “annoyed” by the series of interruptions to his reign, his Queen Consort couldn't be more pleased.

For those unaware, the royal family has faced a tumultuous year. The King underwent prostate surgery and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, Kate Middleton's abdominal surgery led to the discovery of an undisclosed form of cancer.

"We know that he’s annoyed that his reign has been disrupted by his prostate and cancer issues, and now he’s been stopped again by the general election campaign,” Jennie told the outlet.

"However, personally, I believe it will be beneficial in the long run for Charles – and indeed William – to be halted by the election campaign protocol,” she continued.

The royal expert elaborated: "As Camilla herself noted, the King has been at risk of overexerting himself too soon in his recovery. These six weeks of enforced rest will provide him with the time he needs to regain his strength and fully recover before resuming his full-time duties."

"Additionally, the summer break is approaching, and I think that's beneficial as well. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will see a Royal Family restored to full strength,” Bond concluded.
