Sarah Ferguson subtly conveyed a message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during her appearance on Loose Women on Wednesday, focusing on skin cancer awareness after her recent diagnosis of malignant melanoma.
In addition to discussing her health, Ferguson provided updates on the Princess of Wales and King Charles. Buckingham Palace announced in February that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
While the monarch resumed public duties in late April, engaging at the Macmillan Cancer Centre in London and discussing his treatment, the Princess of Wales disclosed in March that cancer was detected during tests following significant abdominal surgery earlier in the year. Princess Kate confirmed the diagnosis and shared her journey with preventative chemotherapy in a video message. She continues to prioritize her health and has not yet returned to public duties.
Reflecting on Kate and the King, Sarah Ferguson remarked: "The great example they have set is that they have spoken about it themselves. Princess Catherine was so brave and courageous. [Kate is] such a wonderful mother and an inspiration to all of us."
Ferguson also emphasized the importance of family unity amidst the ongoing feud between senior royals and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
"Family unity is key," she stated. "We should all unite in order to really feel better."
Notably, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not received invitations to the Trooping the Colour event on June 15 for the second consecutive year. Additionally, they will miss the Duke of Westminster's wedding on Friday, June 7, despite Hugh Grosvenor being their son's godfather.
Harry and Meghan declined the wedding invitation to avoid an awkward reunion with Prince William, who will serve as an usher at the event.
